The state of Pennsylvania is known for its abundant plant life. It has a very adequate supply of precipitation, not so much to cause it to be a rainforest, but enough to keep it very green and filled with flowers that bloom at different times from late March until November. The Laurel Highlands is a region of mountainous southwestern Pennsylvania where many of the highest points in the state occur. With the adequate rainfall in the Spring comes a splash of color in a wide variety of flowers. The Wild Images Team was spending some time in the area when we captured a series of photos of this type of flower. To give the overall image a better texture and contrast, we chose certain vantage points where the background greenery and shadows create a perfect stage for the bloom to literally shine in the spotlight of the sun. Subtle hints of yellow and orange can be found through the dominant pink and white hues of the petals. The Wild Images Team has captured many other photos throughout Pennsylvania, including the postgame fireworks over the Andy Warhol Bridge, the colorful bursts of Independence Day fireworks over the Ohio River, the view as delicate flowers bloom in the Laurel Highlands, and the very early lantana at the University Park Flower Gardens, each of which is available for sale in our store. During our trips to New York on the other side of the state we have captured many photos such as in the Corning Museum of Glass antique cruets and dishware overlap, then in New York City itself the sudden snow squall over the Garment District, the scene of the Sherry-Netherland towering over a sculpture, and the opposite directed festive view of West 58th Street, each of which is available for sale in our store.
